These terms set out the agreement between you and Vāṇi. They are written to be read, not to be scrolled past — if anything here is unclear, write to us.
Vāṇi (app identifier ai.vani.app) is built and operated as a single, small project based in Sydney, Australia. For any question about these terms, write to [email protected]. A person reads that inbox.
By using Vāṇi you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Vāṇi is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age where you live). An account is required for features that write data or use paid features.
All 700 verses of the Bhagavad Gītā — Sanskrit, transliteration, and English rendering — are free, always. This will not change.
Vāṇi+ is a paid membership that provides access to additional features. It is available as:
Local pricing is shown in-app by the App Store at the time of purchase and may differ from the base US prices listed above.
All purchases are processed by Apple. Payment is charged to the Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. For the annual plan, the auto-renewing purchase renews automatically unless turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or turn off renewal in your Apple ID settings. Vāṇi cannot process refunds — Apple handles them through the App Store.
The Founding Saṅgha is a limited invitation to support Vāṇi in its early days. Where a founding contribution is arranged, it is handled directly, outside the App Store — Apple's purchase protections and refund process do not apply to it. A separate agreement, formed at the time of invitation, sets out what a founding member is entitled to and the terms of their contribution, including any refund terms; that agreement governs the founding arrangement, not the standard purchase terms above.
Samvāda is an AI companion feature, not a person. Its responses are generated by our AI companion service using a third-party AI processing provider, grounded in the Bhagavad Gītā.
Vāṇi applies safeguards, but AI-generated responses can be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. Vāṇi does not warrant their accuracy or reliability. You use Samvāda's responses at your own discretion; Vāṇi is not responsible for actions taken based on them.
Samvāda does not give medical, legal, financial, or clinical advice. It is not a substitute for professional guidance of any kind.
When Vāṇi detects that you may be in danger, it surfaces links to real helplines. These crisis-support features are free to everyone, on every plan. However, Vāṇi is not an emergency service — in an emergency, please contact your local emergency services immediately.
You agree not to:
The Sanskrit text of the Bhagavad Gītā is in the public domain. The English renderings, commentary, design, and software are the work of Vāṇi and are protected accordingly.
Your own reflections, notes, and practice records remain yours.
Vāṇi may change over time. Features may be added or withdrawn. The scripture will remain free.
You may delete your account in-app at any time. A Vāṇi+ purchase remains associated with your Apple ID regardless of account deletion. Vāṇi may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.
Vāṇi is provided as-is. We work to keep it reliable and accurate, but we cannot guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Vāṇi's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the app is limited to the amount you have paid for Vāṇi+ in the twelve months before the claim arose, or fifty Australian dollars, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any rights you have under applicable consumer law that cannot lawfully be excluded — including, for users in Australia, the non-excludable consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law. If you are outside Australia, you likewise retain any mandatory consumer rights provided by the law of your jurisdiction.
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
If these terms change in a way that matters, we will update the effective date above and, where the change is significant, tell you inside the app.
For how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.
