How do calm people behave

Kṛṣṇa answers

BHAGAVAD GĪTĀ · 2.55

“When a man renounces all the desires of the mind and is content with himself…”

Calm isn't a posture. It's being content.

Arjuna asks what a steady mind looks like from the outside: how it talks, sits, walks. Kṛṣṇa answers from the inside. Steadiness is not a way of sitting. It is being content within.

Ask the Gītā your own question.

Samvāda is software, an AI companion tuned to the Bhagavad Gītā. It is not a person. It answers from the verse and shows you which one, and it never pretends to be Kṛṣṇa.

Going deeper

2.54 is Arjuna's question, and it is very concrete: how does someone of firm wisdom speak, sit and move? He is asking about outward signs. The verse before, 2.53, has just said that when the mind stands unshaken in concentration, the vision of the Self comes. Kṛṣṇa's answer in 2.55 goes inward at once. When a person gives up every desire of the mind and is content in the self, that person is called a sage of firm wisdom. Then 2.56 adds what this looks like in experience: a mind not shaken by pain, no craving for pleasure, and freedom from desire, fear and anger. None of these verses describes a posture. The Gītā answers a question about appearance with a description of what is steady underneath. See chapter 2 and what the Gītā says about knowledge.
